Broken car manual lock

Some thief  broke my car's manual lock, and opened the driver side door. I
think He tried to start the car but He couldn't and He left the car, I am able to
lock the car from remote. Seems like electronic lock is still working. Is it safe to
keep the car like this or I should change the manual lock? Do I have to change
the whole lock system including electronic lock? Please suggest.

They didn't defeat the security so you are OK. Have your insurance fix the damage.

The manual lock button or lever has a rod that goes from the button to the latch. That's what actually locks the door. Same thing with the electric lock actuator inside the door. There's a rod that goes from the actuator to the latch. There's little plastic clips that hold the rod to the lock button and actuator. Sounds like the thief broke the clip for the manual lock button and the rod fell off inside the door. Personally I'd get it fixed. In an emergency you may have to unlock the door manually to be able to safely get out of the vehicle quickly. Hope that helps! Jim
