Provide a better problem description, please. Does it run? Does it idle OK but there is no power when you try to accellerate? Did it run without the cat converter? Is it throwing any codes? More info is needed to help you diagnose.

yes, it will start up and run but within about a minute or two it starts getting too hot, so i have to shut it off so the egr valve doesnt melt again. idles like crap the whole time... sounds kinda like a diesel, only worse. i have to floor it just to get it up to 35-40 mph. its not throwing any codes at all... i havent tried to run it with out the catalytic converter, but i just put a new one on the car a week ago. ill check the mass airflow sensor this afternoon n let you know what i find out. thank you for any and all of your help.

I had a similar issues once, my mistake was that i connected the spark plug wires incorrectly, so the firing order was wrong and it sounded like a tractor. After I got it back in the right firing order it worked perfectly. Perhaps something to check out.
