would it be possible to pull a v6 out of a 95 firebird and drop in a v8

Yes. You're looking at replacing the wiring harness, front suspension, radiator, transmission if you have a T5 5 speed, PCM, you'd want to swap the rear end for a limited slip if you have an open differential, and other various odds and ends.

As far as price goes, you're better off selling the V6 if it's in good running condition and buying a good running factory V8 car. That being said, though, if you want to rebuild the engine outside of the car and replacing all the suspension w/ performance aftermarket, then a V6 is a great swap car.

it would be cheaper and alot less work to just buy a V8 firebird. like Samuel says all those parts would have to be changed.

Depends on where you are stated. For me it would be cheaper to swap the engine, than buy a factory V8.. On one hand buy a factory V8, from other hand, if you are willing to know much about the car you're driving - swap the engine.
