1999 Firebird Windows and Gear shifter/Dash Illuminating Lights dont work.

Asked by Servine1212 May 09, 2018 at 09:26 PM about the 1999 Pontiac Firebird Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In my firebird, The windows, and Gear shifter/Dash illuminating lights
stopped working. I don't think it is the BCM issue, because I just had that
fixed prior to this issue, and my radio is working fine. I tried to replace the 30
amp breaker for the windows, but when I plugged it in, it sparked and
overheated. Really frustrating, because I would like to roll my windows down
for the quickly approaching summer.

But when you say you had the BCM fixed does that mean you sent it away and somebody reprogrammed it and maybe a newer one they could have reprogrammed it incorrectly or gave you a faulty one or soldered something incorrectly making it wanting to not ground somewhere who knows I would go back to whoever you got the PCM from cuz that's most likely what the issue is especially if you never had any fuse problems before this.
