When removing the throttle position sensor, is the metal piece suppose to come off as well

Is that silver piece suppose to come off? When I took off the cover, the silver
piece was still on there

When I took off the TPS, that silver part did not come off. It was still sitting on the TPS. The new one I bought had the silver piece on there. Is that how its suppose to be or was it suppose to come off?

(not my car)This is what I am taking about. The silver piece didn't come off when I took off the TPS. It stayed on there.

By any chance do you have a pic of we're the tps is located ... Bc I have to change it but i don't know where it's located
