That is a coil pack for a six cylinder engine. It provides the high voltage spark, through ignition wires, to each spark plug at a the precise time.

The three prong plug is just one of the two plug-ins that are reconnected during assembly. The six (or more) prong plug-in gets a signal from the ECM to fire that respective plug. The three prong plug probably provides 12 volts to the primary side of the coil. When the ECM cuts the voltage, a 50,000 volts spark is induced in the secondary side of the coil....where the ignition wire attach. The nice thing about cars is they run even if we don't fully understand how. And I'm an Engineer.

They are both burnt and melted together. I need to know where the other end plugs in at?
