Heater/blower motor

Asked by Lisa Sep 30, 2016 at 12:57 AM about the 1996 Ford Taurus GL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When you turn on the blower, it rumbles and shakes the whole dash, but no air comes out.  What the heck is wrong with this old monster NOW?

Agree with answer above but no not believe it is bad sounds like the screw that holds it to the blower motor shaft has come loose just need to reposition blade and tighten screw.

Bought a new motor. Got my son to take a look at it. Firebird338, LOL. You were right. The bolt that held the motor in place was loose. Took it out the rest of the way. A BALL OF TINFOIL in the motor/fan/cage thing. It was a burger wrapper. Not sure how it got in there, (Mouse???) but with the motor loose in its mounting, and that ball of foil rattling around inside... that was the whole problem. Once put back together, the problem disappeared. Thank you so much!!
