hi joseph, i just spend a while searching online for the info but I couldn't find a thing. Try calling a pontiac dealership to see if they will be able to tell you where it is.

Just found this post. Hopefully it's been solved. My 2007 G6 GT's (power steering) reservoir is located on the left side of the upper intake and behind the s-belt. Your set-up might be different than mine, but I hope that helps a little in your search!

FYI, V6 engines take fluid, 4-cylinders have the motor (no fluid).

**06 G6 GT POWER STEERING** THE V6 HAS A PUMP THE 4 BANGER HAS THE ELECTRIC IF YOU CAN NOT FIND THE CAP TO FILL THE G6 GT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, ITS BECAUSE ITS ON THE DRIVER SIDE! ITS ON THE BLOCK ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN. AND ABOUT DEAD CENTER FROM THE FAN TO THE FIREWALL. ITS AN ALL BLACK CAP, NO DIPSTICK. ITS NOT HARD TO REACH. THE CAP IS FACING UP.

It is literally straight to the left and up a bit from the oil filler cap. It’s impossible to miss. The cap even has a steering wheel on it for Christ’s sake.

We are finding on my 2010 Pontiac G6, that it's electric power steering and you can't check the transmission fluid without jacking car up and getting underneath it. Recall stopped in 2009 for electric power steering recall. I'm hearing that you have to take your car to the mechanic to get these things checked and fixed, and to get fluids in them. My car has a lot of ice and snow build-up under it. My power steering is working on amd off. My transmission seems to be jerking hard while going down the road. Looks like it's time for a different vehicle.

I have a 2009 G6 and this morning I went to the store and my power steering light on the dash board appeared and it was hard to steer. I checked the manual and the diagram is not even my motor. Then I got back into my car and it was easy to turn, drove about a mile back home with no problems. Could someone let me know what triggered the steering light to come on in the first place? Is it corrected?

I have 2006 g6 base model 4cyl. right behind the oil filter cap is a rubber plug the size of a baseball it's so you can eyeball the amount of fluid so there is no dipstick. to the right of that is a small black screw cap with a steering wheel on it.. it's staring you right in the face but took me forever to notice cause hoses are routed over top of it.. I hope this helps someone..
