2006 Pontiac G6 engine failure

Asked by GuruSM96 Apr 18, 2017 at 10:27 PM about the 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Pontiac g6 with 135,000 miles on it.
My check engine light is staying on but at random
times the tc light comes on it dings a couple times
the dash says "engine power reduced" then "engine
power disabled" the car shuts off and I have to let it
sit a minute or two and it will crank back up. It just
did it again as I was driving but this time gave me
no warning just shut off completely and I was
almost rear ended. Any ideas what could be wrong?
