does not start

91 ford econoline e250 5.8l ran fine then I went to start and then click noise. Removed starter was bad after testing. Replaced starter, solenoid, battery and now I connect battery and I hear clicking noise (not from solenoid) and check engine light is on with no key in ignition. Some dome light but very dim.

Sounds like you have a bad ignition switch if the check engine light is on and the key is not in the ignition.

I have a 1995 ford clubwagon when i connect the battery the starter comes on with out the key even in it
