2003 f250 econoline blew a tire and now wont start

Asked by MSmith5674 Apr 18, 2020 at 06:10 PM about the 2003 Ford E-Series E-250 Cargo Van

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving and the front
passenger tire actually exploded
and after changing the tire the van
wont start. It cranks fine, it has
gas, ie checked all fuses. It's been
running good and has 350,000
miles on it. The tire exploded and
was scary so don't know if it
would effect the starting.

You going to have to get under the van and look into the area around the tire to see what was damaged. If it cranks fine, you might have a fuel pressure issue. Do you smell gasoline?

Also be sure the shock from the blow out didn't trigger the fuel pump inertia switch that most Ford Products have. It's designed to shut down the fuel pump in the event of a collision. But a major vibration can trip the switch as well. Hope that helps! Jim
