I have this 04 6.0l diesel that had codes for failed #6 injector. I opened the motor up and found injector in half. So i replaced the injector which is horrible on an e350. It ran great for awhile and now it keeps dying at stops. I have codes p2284 and p2285 which cleared after i cleaned the battery terminals. Now the only code is P0278 which is cylinder 6 balance malfunction. It hasnt turned on check engine light but I literally just replaced this injector. Any ideas??? Need help!

Nightmare Diesel engine, The issues related to the 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel engine have long been in the news. Consumers are enraged over the poor quality of the diesel engine in Super Duty Trucks and Excursions. Manufactured by NAVISTAR, these defective engines were used in Ford trucks from 2003 to 2007. Ford owners have been arguing that the 6.0L diesel engine is faulty since it first came out. The engine continued to be manufacturer for another 4 years, at a rate of 275,000 diesel pickup trucks yearly. During this time, Ford advertised the high quality of the engine, leading to the Super Duty Truck becoming one of the best selling Ford vehicles. Problems with the diesel engine are said to include damaged injectors, necessary turbocharger replacements, decreased resale value, and frequent breakdowns.

would a 2008 be similarly affected ? or was it merely the models between 03 - 07 ?
