The majority of Pick-ups and sensors may have drastically changed ( I know the MAF Has and there are 2 O2 sensors instead of 1) Most salvage yards won't sell you anything emission related .. it could get expensive. They probably would sell you a computer from that year/engine

The algorithm in the two computers is different ... you can modify IO's but the actual program uses ERM and EEProm parameters that are addressed to the input/output ports and these ports and not be at the same address's . If your old OBC was compatible then you would not only need to reprogram but you would need to know the input address of every wire going in and out .. including the anti-theft
