How unethical is a dealership that will not take cash for a car?

Asked by Tiffany Aug 30, 2021 at 12:54 AM about the 2021 GMC Yukon Denali 4WD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

They will not sell me a vehicle unless I finance it with them. It is Greg Lair in
Canyon, Tx.  I offered to pay cash and they said,  No, we can not sell it to you.
And dealerships wonder why people are so skeptical of their practices.
Beware!

Move on to another dealership. They make extra money on extended warranties and financing.

Look for a different dealer in you area. They are trying to sell you something you don,t need and is not required. Bad business practice but many people just go ahead with the financed deal.

If you can pay off the loan the next day you can screw the dealer and not pay any interest. I have done it when they tried to high pressure me. Just make sure the loan has no prepayment penalties.

Thanks! You are correct, the deal all changed when I said I did not want the extra stuff. It is just a vehicle not a piece of medical equipment! Thanks for all the responses!!
