Tempature gauge on car

Asked by GuruXTXBJ Oct 13, 2018 at 03:55 AM about the 2002 Oldsmobile Alero GLS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 oldsmobile alero. Whenever im
sitting in a parking lot with the car running
the tempature gauge slowly creeps above the
middle tick mark. Ive read in the manual that
the normal operating tempature needle
should be on the middle tick mark or below
the middle tick mark. For some reason when
idling and parked with the car running the
temp gauge will creep past middle mark. It
never overheats. Whats wrong?

Nothing is wrong, when the engine idles the water pump turns more slowly that's all.
