Question type: General

Gday guys, i need some information ,i have an Edsel 361 motor here in
Australia , ive had it in my 60 Tbird and have got it out and was trying to get it
rebuilt, but the engineering shop cant find parts for it so now i am looking for a

The 361 is a FE engine like other FE engine such as the 352, 360, 390 and 428. I have no doubt you can find the parts you need in the US. A 390 would be a good choice. You can find FE crate engines online but freight won't be cheap. Good luck.

thanks for the info , yeh its been in the workshop for 7 months while he tried to chase up parts ,but im thinking now to be safe i should just get a motor that the car came out with ,a crate motor , the old 361 might just become a static display in the man cave, it would be great to just get it back on the road cheers for your feedback , Paul

The good news is that engine is a HD version of the FE. The bad/good news is that your car did not come with it so you do not have to worry about originality. You might want to research your car to see which engine it came with. There were two engines, the 352 FE engine or the big 430 MEL which also came in the big Lincoln and Mercury cars.
