96 explorer trany shifting problem

need help i have 96 for explorer and the trans shift till 3rd gear can any one tell me what could be the problem plz.

Is it shifting up to 3rd but not getting into 4th? If that is the case, it could be the shift solenoid. Is the "Check engine" light on, because a problem like that could set a code. If you take it to a shop they could tell you for sure.

When I speed up to 55 60 MPH the transmission feels like it's jumping or skipping out of place
