Honda HRV Alignment Service Mistake?

Asked by Guru9DGM5F Nov 22, 2020 at 05:12 PM about the 2020 Honda HR-V EX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi there -

I took my car to get serviced at the dealership since the steering wheel felt
slightly off. After getting the alignment "fixed," it feels substaintilly off. The car
pulls to the left and I have to hold the steering wheel significantly to the right in
order to drive straight.

Upon looking at the alignment report they provided, they used an alignment
guide for 2016-2018 HRVs, yet I have a 2020. Did they cause irreversible
damage or is this something they can fix with addressing alignment with the
right setting? I've driven about 150 miles on it since the faulty service was
performed.

Also, there are red marks on the alignment report. Did they even perform it
correctly for the wrong year used?!

Thank you so much for the help!

Kelly

Take it back to them and voice your concerns. Show them their own report and ask them about the red items. They usually indicate an out of tolerance condition and the black numbers show that it was adjusted to within specifications.

A brand new vehicle should not need an alignment unless you hit something like a pot hole or curb. That's probably why they used the 2016 to 18 specs. The 2020 specs may not be out yet. Follow taver91's advice and take it back. Keep all documentation in case this becomes a Lemon Law claim! Hope that helps! Jim
