I can only drive my 96 ford explorer eddy brauer
edition in 1st and 2nd gear..i was going down the
road the other day and my car stopped and i have
to reve it up to the highest rpms before it would
actually go..the car is full of fluid ..do you think if i
change the transmission filter that it may help and
get my car going again....

Probably not. Sounds like you need a rebuild. Bring it to a shop.
