Why is my fan wobbly?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had a few blades that came off my cooling fan on my truck. Recently, I noticed that there is a lot of play on the fan. When I took the fan off, I noticed that the pulley and fan clutch had a good amount of play. What could be my source? Is it a bad pulley, clutch, or water pump? thanks so much

If the pulley and clutch have a good ammount of play, the bearings in the water pump are on their way out. Replace the fan along with whatever the problem may be because the fan is designed to be balanced to keep the water pump from premature wear.
