Need help! Having trouble replacing front suspension bushings

Asked by jsak68 Dec 12, 2008 at 06:35 PM about the 1994 Nissan Sentra Limited (1994.5)

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm replacing all of the rubber suspension bushings on my car since it has 385K miles on it and they're all cracked and broken. I bought the Energy Suspension Hyperflex Kit to replace them all and I'm having trouble getting the old front lower control arm (or as Nissan calls them "Transverse Links") forward bushings out. Has anyone replaced these before? It seems to me that they need to be pressed out somehow but I don't know what tool is needed to do the job. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That's a big project. There are tools you can purchase to take out the lower control arm. I guess you can use a pickle fork and hammer.
