Dear ahiyah-- Maybe the check engine light is trying to tell you something. You will need a mechanic to reset the check engine light, so while he's at it ask him to check the diagnostic codes from your 1995 Nissan Maxima. He might find the trouble that the check engine light is reporting. Or, if you are lucky, maybe you just opened the gas cap while your engine was running and all that is needed is to have the light reset. Good luck from Bovan.
