Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 nissan sentra 5 speed manual. I was downshifting from 5th to 4th to go up a hill and then could not shift back to 3rd gear. I was able to get it back out of 4th after a lot of forcing but now its acting like 4th is its natural position and when in first when giving gas the clutch comes all the way to were 2nd should be little by little when you give it gas.

Have you checked your clutch fluid level? If low find leak and repair. Does pedal feel normal, hard or spongy? Check slave and master cylinder operation. Normally when I find an issue with one of them I go ahead and replace both. But if all that looks normal inspect your cables. Is one or both broke?
