what are all the reasons a 1997 Nissan quest would overheat

car overheats but there is water in the radiator

as long as the fluid levels are good, the next thing would be a bad thermostat. you need to make sure you are not losing fluid somewhere. you could also have a bad water pump. the worst thing would be a bad head gasket. start by replacing the stat.

Check to hear if the Fan (at the radiator ) is coming on. Sometimes the sensor (usually located at the thermostat) will fail ... if the Fan doesn't come on and the temp drops when your moving that may be the cause ... if not then probably thermostat of coolant pump ... good luck

What if radiator never fills up completely resvoir level stays same nothing but small drip from under van but when going looses water as steam van gets hot don't know if fans cone on but cab blows heater justfine
