This is a general calculation. To determine avg. mileage, the industry use 15,000 miles per year. So, a 10 yr. old car would have about 150,000 miles. This 97 Nissan is 15 yrs. old, so add another 75,000 miles, for a total of 225,000! So, this particular car"s mileage would not be considered exorbitant, but below the national average.

I am adding this to the above post for the 97 Nissan Altima: The rest of this concerns the overall condition of the car. Look at maintenance records, have a trusted mechanic chk. it out, chk. at cars.com to see reliability issues or recalls for this yr. and model. Does the engine smoke when started? Are there any noticeable leaks, such as oil, coolant underneath the car? How does the overall appearance of the car look? Is the interior in good condition: tears, dirty, smelly, etc.?
