engine problem

was running normal then all of a sudden my car's engine started to feel diffrent like its not running in all cylinders. Smell of gas or engine exhaust was present then all of a sudden engine dies and wont start again. what could it be? No engine light came on. Nissan Maxima 2.0 A32 model 99

nothing was leaking, Just dont know if its the fuel filter (i Hope) or the injection, or relay. I hope its not the timing chain.
