Difference between air compressor on a honda civic and a hybrid civic

Hello, I own a 2007 honda civic 1.3L hybrid, the
A/C air co.pressor is bad and needs replacing, I am
shopping for a new one. In checking for prices, I
noticed the air compressor for my hybrid is around
$400 for a refurbished one, but the air compressor
for the regular civic 1.8L is around $100 for a
refurbished one. Is there a difference between the
two, or are auto parts stores trying to RIP off hybrid
owners?

Yes, but the complexity of hybrids doesn't have anything to do with the air compressor itself that would explain the 400% mark up

I just replaced the one on my 2012 Hybrid.. the Honda Compressor made in japan was $1200, The Coil (magnate) $200, the clutch assembly (Pulley) was $394 Grand total was about $1800 not including tax. My question is? Does this part fail often on Honda Hybrids? FYI, the Hybrid Compressor has a thick orange Cable that leads to the Lithium battery.. Which runs the Air. Very complicated,, Why couldn't they just run it off the regular battery like most cars? Oh - to sell you the expensive parts , thats why.

From my understanding the hybrid AC is different in that it is set up to run off electricity when the engine shuts off and the belt is no longer running the compressor. - Otherwise you'd start getting hot as you go between gas and electricity powering the car. More complex = more money.
