WHY? Are you getting really horrible mileage? Or some other symptom, please explain.

In California, hybrid batteries are warrantied for 10 years or 150,000 miles... you're creeping up on this, how much to replace the battery? Yes, selling it is an option, BUT, a newer car will likely be MORE EXPENSIVE than a battery replacement? Really depends on how much you like your car.

160,000 mi on the car now. I have noticed for the last 5 yrs that it seems to hesitate during acceleration, gas mileage 35, AC not working properly last year & this year not at all bc no ground to AC clutch, 12v batteries replaced too often, etc. I was quoted $3300 for a replacement but could also need a new modulator. American Honda Manufacturer will only offer $500 to help if I get the repair done w/ a Honda dealer.

If your car is in really remarkable condition, it might be possible to get $3,500 to $4,000 ... Good luck. Are you planning on getting another hybrid car if you replaced this car?? Listen, you can't say that you haven't gotten a lot of service from your car in 9 years... That's almost 18,000 miles per year, I'm guessing that you purchased it new? Unfortunately, the Honda is a partial hybrid, unlike a Prius which is a full hybrid system, better engineering.

I'm thinking of getting a horse or good old Chevy pick up. I'd just like to get something that is simple and reliable. I bought this car thinking that it would last w/o major issues for 15 years. I have spent so much $ and time researching that it just isn't worth it. Where should I take it to trade other than Honda?

Bridgette;. Sell it yourself privately, put an ad in the local paper...yes, the dealership will take it off your hands cheaply because they want to make a profit and would probably do a complete check up and get the car prepped for sale fixing some things... Is your car in remarkably good shape cosmetically?? That's important, get the car detailed , it will show better.... Don't know where you live, cars command different values in various parts of the country, look that up online and you will see what I mean.. here in SoCal, cars command premium prices compared to Michigan.or the Northeast. OK, so you purchased it brand new and wanted 15 years, I understand.... my previous car was a 1995 Honda Accord and had the car for 19 years, but I didn't put as many miles on each year like you did. Fifteen years at 18,000 miles is 270,000 miles... I'm not saying it's impossible, but maybe it's optimistic... Both Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are known for going a long distance...And, then there's the Subaru high mileage club with people who have gone over 300,000 miles... Really depends on what you are looking for... trucks do depreciate more slowly , but do you have a need for one, the ride in trucks is not usually comfortable.. I've known people who went between 300,000 and 500,000 miles in larger trucks but they cost a lot to purchase and fuel.... Good luck..
