It seems my transmission shifts to soon taking off normal it shifts from first to second at about 5 MPH is their an adjustment?

No, there are no adjustments. The shift points are determined by the PCM. One way to improve fuel mileage is to shift the transmission to the highest gear possible as soon as possible. Low RPMs mean less fuel burned. Does the Transmission perform normally otherwise? How is the fluid level and condition? If everything else is ok, I'd just get used to it.

make sure your transmission fluid is between the hash marks and not burnt...with the engine running in park...anything else might mean a leak~
