I checked the brake fluid and it is right above minimum, my brakes have worked fine but now I have to press to the ground to stop, if I refill the brake fluid with the brake light go off on my dash and my brakes work better?

The fluid had to go somewhere. Inspect around master cylinder and around all four wheels for the brake fluid leak. This will help you narrow down where your issue is.
