My warranty was up on my 2020 Jeep Cherokee in October 2022.

Asked by Guru98Y2X Mar 19, 2023 at 01:19 PM about the 2020 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our engine light went on.  Our Jeep comes with a 5 year powertrain warranty.
Would that repair fall in the 5 year warranty?  Again, our 36 month warranty was
up in Oct. 2022.  We only have 17,000 miles on the car, if that makes ant
difference.

Is it the yellow check engine light or the red engine light? If red, the power train warranty should cover it if you have serviced the vehicle properly. If yellow you will need the codes and then check the warranty to see if it has a high tech section that is covered. Jeeps, I will never own another one.

We can't read the terms of your warranty or the actual reason for the CEL being on from here. It might be as simple as a loose gas cap. Find out why the CEL is on, maybe a simple code scan at a car parts store, then discuss this with the Jeep dealer.

Or if it's an emission control related problem you could be still in warranty. Check your warranty booklet or download a copy of the booklet. Hope that helps! Jim
