my wife's 2000 Nissan altima starts then dies,it will keep running if I give it gas for a few seconds.turn it off and start it again and it dies.is this the fuel pump?

You may have an issue with your idle air control valve (IAC) or throtle position sensor (TPS). Is your check engine light on ? Check that the air inlet hose going to the throtle body is connected and not cracked. Also check the connections from the air cleaner to the throtle body..

have autozone or someone like it to read the check engine light codes, the computer has stored a code about something.
