The Xterra is rear-wheel drive (RWD) unless it has 4WD.
you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle,leave in 2WD unless you are off road,in snow or ice,do not just drive in4WD on a daily basis it will ruin it is only for winter. you will have a couple of push buttons on dash read,2WD,4X4 high and4X4 low.you will probley never run in4X4 low.hope this explanes a little.
When it says 2wd does that mean fwd or rear drive
