sounds like it's in failsafe mode. light on? is the mass airflow meter clean?? even if it's clean could be failing just not enough to set a code just cause drivebality issues, is there any codes?

no lights. the mass airflow is the only thing I have not changed - but I did take it off and clean it. I also understand it could be a comp issue. Airflo will be here thur. hope it works....... Real frustrated with no codes

I have access to a reader but there are no codes or check engine lights. Yet each time it starts fine, step on the gas and it sputters. Let it off it idles fine. Step real soft you can get up tp about 2800rpms. All in all I am going nuts...

yes but can you explain why even when i can get the rpms up it runs fine. it just does not have the vrooom. there seems to be no miss. it sputters if gas is pushed normal or fast. but if pushed rea slow, it won't go...

sounds like a mass airflow meter even when they're failing they won't set a code until they've completely failed.

Hello I need help with my car. I'm a new driver and new owner to Nissan so I don't know much about them. My 2000 nissan sentra GXE starts but right when it starts it doesn't get over 500 rpms then it dies and does the same thing. I try pushing on the gas pedal to see if that could be the problem but it doesn't help at all. Anyone know what's wrong with my car?

2009 Sentra: I had the same problem as many Sentra owners had. Started car and when put in drive or reverse it would spit and sputter and eventually stall. This got worse over about a six month time period. Changed all kind of things. Eventually found the 4 inch plastic intake hose near the MAF sensor had two splits in it. I couldn't see them until I physically moved it. Everytime the engine would torque in either direction they would open up and the car would run extremely rough or stall. replaced the intake hose and car runs like new! Hope this helps some one.
