What other kind of model of alternator will work for a 2002 Nissan sentra?

Assuming your submodel is XE 1.8L, Sentra 2002-2006 should be a direct fit. Unless you know the used alternator is good and tested, I'd recommend buying a remanufactured one. Its core is rebuilt and it's much cheaper than a new. It usually comes with a warranty. Ideal if you don't want to risk doing the job twice just to save 20$. Take your time to call more than one vendor, price vary a lot for alternators. Have good shopping!
