I just had the upper and lower ball joints replaced on my 2002 nissan frontier five speed and now the front left side makes a ticking sound and then starts making a thumping sound it isnt the brakes or the lug nuts what could it be

It could be your CV joint or axle. Take it back and have the repair shop check it out. They may have damaged something when changing the ball joints.

Alright so i had thee wheel bearing replaced and the sound is that it was making is gone but now there is a different kind of winding sound in the front left. Sound goes away when it is in four wheel drive. Just wondering if a snap clip or something might have been overlooked when it was reassembled
