my transmission slips

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In my 3.5 altima 2002 the tranny started slipping out of no where. It feels as if
the car is in limp mode. The engine seems as if it has lost a lot of power. A while
back the car went into limp mode because the MAF went bad. We replaced that.
Then this to,e when it went into limp mode we replaced that and the throttle
body. Neither helped the tranny still slips and is still in limp mode. I am looking
into replacing the tranny but my gut feeling is telling me it's not the tranny. Can
anybody give me any imput

It's quite possible that the transmission is crapping out on you and putting the car in to limp mode. Sorry to say. But that is my gut feeling.

“Fail Code” conditions or “Limp Mode” occurs when there is a problem with the logic of a vehicle’s computer. When the signal value sent by a sensor to the computer is not within a pre- programmed range specified by the manufacturer, it will switch to “secondary” programming. These procedures are designed to protect the transmission from further damage that could be caused by the signal error.
