Asked by Ford351 Apr 15, 2012 at 07:33 PM about the 1997 Ford Ranger XL Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Would anyone out there know if a 97 Ford Ranger 2.3 4cly 5speed Match a 95 5 speed Transmission?? I'm asking cause my 97 tranny went. Looking for another one presently but unsure if a 95 tranny 5speed would match up. I've been looking everywhere to do a parts compair. But I'm having no luck. If someone could help me that would be great.

You should be fine. Ford made some changes to the styling in 98, but even after that the mechanical components were the same.

Thanks Everyone, I couldn't figure out how to get back to this area. But Thank You again. It worked out..
