2005 nissan altima

Asked by Trent May 16, 2016 at 05:41 AM about the 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I have a 2005 Nissan altima with around
219,000 miles and  I'm having the issue
sometimes it will crank sometimes it will just turn
over and never crank and sometimes you have to
give it gas. Once I get it running I can shut it off
and it will fire right back up but of I let out sit a few
minutes its hard to start. When I had the throttle
body relearned the dealer ship also reprogrammed
the ECM and ever since then its been acting this
way. I took the car to a local mechanic and he
checked all the parameters which is the temps on
the car such as inside the fuel tank and fuel tank....
they were all off as well as the speed sensors were
reading 5 and 19 mph while its sitting still. Is the
issue with the reprogram of the ecm or could it be
something else

Simple, return to the Dealership that reflashed the "ECU" computer they will know the issue.

I did but they told me it had a blown head gasket which is clearly not the issue because the car doesn't run hot I don't have to add coolant to it and it doesn't smoke at all.

Without inspecting the vehicle personally, I can only speculate... SURE seems as the computer has issues and needs to be checked. A competent service tech can check this out in 10 minutes with the proper scan tool such as this. Nissan/Infiniti CONSULT III plus diagnostics and reprogramming of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. Checks and clears diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) Real-time data display (datalist) Data capture (snapshot) Vehicle and system specific function tests Program, Reprogram or initialize Modules Program keys (must be approved security professional) Control module programming and reprogramming, all applicable systems Regards
