I can't get my 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 S out of park

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A couple weeks ago it often would not shift past
neutral to go into reverse or park and now I can't get it
out of park!!!! Someone said something about it could
be a fuse, or wiring issues and also told me just to
bypass the whole thing by pushing in the little weird
button on the top left corner of the shifter and drive it
like that?!!! Please help! Which fuse box are they in and
what is the number of the fuse for the shifter?!

The shifter release will get you out of park and after that, only put the car in neutral when stopped and use the parking brake to keep the car from moving. You probably have a defective shift solenoid or the linkage is out of adjustment. You don't know cars, so have a mechanic fix it.
