Nissan Rogue 2019 Audio random plays same songs

Asked by Adam Apr 22, 2019 at 08:27 PM about the 2019 Nissan Rogue SV AWD

Question type: General

I recently purchased a Nissan Rogue and the
audio is driving me insane. I have a USB
drive with about 3000. I have it set on
random and it keeps playing the same songs
in the same order. If I select a song manually
and then set it to random, it works for a little
bit but keeps going back to a loop. I’ve tried
turning off the radio, taking out the USB, and
even trying another device. I also tried
turning on replay for the entire drive and
turning random off and on again. It’s so
annoying!

I'm not 100% sure if this is working yet but I think by taking all the songs out of a folder and just having them in the root directory of the thumb drive it appears to be mixing them up randomly. I have 1500 songs on the thumb drive and there were a couple of repeats after only 30 minutes which was suspicious but I don't think it played the same songs afterwards.

I have tried all the suggestions such as putting the files in the root directory, making a separate directory and putting separate folders by artist under it, and still when I push RANDOM I get the songs in the same order. This has been a problem with the Nisan Rogue for years (I've had several Rogues - the latest a 2019). I think Nissan needs to look into this and fix it.

I too am having the same issue with my 2019 Rogue. I never had the issue in my 2014 Rogue with the simpler radio system, but this new touch screen system is driving me crazy.

I put a lot of songs in one folder. Transferred it to Thumbdrive. Reads as one folder. Put in random mode. So far it's working. Songs in random mode. We shall see !

I just bought a 2019 Rogue and have exactly the same problem. I’ve tried resetting the radio but that didn’t work. I have all my songs in one folder as well. I will try putting them in the root directory but it sounds like that also does not work. Is there a way to tell who manufactures the actual radio? If I knew that, perhaps I could direct the problem to them.

Recently purchased my '21 Rogue Sport. I am having the same issue with Random mode repeating the same songs. My system is The BOSE system. This is insane. Makes me want to dump this car and I have had it only 2 months. If Nissan is aware of this, they obviously don't care enough to fix it.
