1997 ford mustang coup 3.8 serpentine pulley tensioner

Asked by GuruK88KZ Dec 13, 2019 at 10:59 PM about the 1997 Ford Mustang Coupe RWD

Question type: General

A 3/8" braker bar don't fit.
It looks like a smaller tool size would work. Plus it looks like a star shape tool
would go in.
Got a clue?

That star shaped tool is a Torx bit. You can access the tensioner by sliding the long breaker par ratchet between the engine and the cooling hose. You can release the tension of the tensioner with a regular 3/8" ratchet end in the slot in front of the mounting point.
