I agree with the low refrigerant level (RJ-134, not Freon). But as the car is older, it might be caused by further defects, like a malfunctioning cooling fan, slipping serpentine belt or its tensioner, compressor relay, sensor, or pressure switch. It's best to have an AC specialist diagnose this, as a novice messing with it could easily cause further damage.
