Question type: Car Customization

I have a 97 3000gt base model with the FWD auto. Is
there any way I can throw a manual in it? What parts
would I need?

If the car itself or an equivalent came with a manual then its no problem, just alot of work! Lol. You'll need a donor car to make the swap happen is the thing and do ALOT of research (id recommend DSM tuners). The manual tramsmission wont necessarily bolt to your motor but most likely will. Youll need the basics like the clutch pedal, master and slave cylinders, shifter and linkages, then it gets more complex such as the ecu from the manual car and youd be best to swap the whole motor wiring harness also, manual transmission mounts and probably axles also. This is why i mention a donor car.... you could probably undo the upper suspension mounts, lower front subframe bolts and drop the whole motor/trans/subframe out through the bottom and put the whole assembly into your car. Its not for the faint of heart but if you have the tools, mechanical aptitude, patience, a couple people to help and a few weekends you can afford to have your car down it can be done!
