How come my expedition will not start with the key? I can cross the starter relay and it will start.

It could be a bad neutral safety switch. It could be a bad ignition switch.

Check to see if you have power on the small black wire at the starter when you have the key in the start position. if you do then the starter solenoid is the problem. if you dont then check the fuse and relay before condemning a larger part.

See if you have power at C167 on the relay with the key to "Start". That will tell you if the fuse and safety switch is good.
