Running hot

Asked by Tina Jun 17, 2017 at 03:40 PM about the 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX Turbo AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car is running hot when city driving,
coolant is full with no leaks in system,
radiator fan is running, thermostat is new.  I
turn the heat on full blast to get levels
down at traffic lights.  Hood has no vents
or scoops, should I maybe reverse
radiators??? Help!!!

I would service the cooling system - thermostat, hoses, flush and new coolant.

It's a modified car so really hard to find someone who wants to work on it, lol.

Hi, What type of mods? and has this been a problem for a while, or did it just start?

It's been happening for a while, mods include, bigger cams, bigger turbo and air intercooler, new rebuilt top end. Intercooler radiator is at the front of the car in front of the regular radiator, should these two be switched around?
