my 2001 eclipse gt 3.0L when i first start it for the day, it doesnt idle smooth. jumps from 600 to 1500 rpms. only does this for maybe a min. it is stock other than a cold air intake.

Sounds like your ISC or idle speed control motor going bad

even though it only does it in the morning? after that it runs great?

The litttle black box where the intake tubing runs through, there is a little sensor there hats your problem, try cleaning it up otherwise you have a bad sensor
