How do I solve a power steering pressure sensor "Service Engine Soon" light?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Service Engine light on for Power Steering Pressure Sensor but pressure is
good. Car shudders intermittently for no apparent reason, especially after
it's fully warmed up. Do I need a new pressure sensor or should I be going
down a different route of diagnosis? If the new sensor is the answer, where
the heck can I find one. No one stocks it and replacement PS pumps don't
include the sensor, except from the dealer at...$847.00!!

Eclipse equivalent of "Check Engine" Light is labeled "Service Engine Soon". Same thing...only different. :-) Switch is not of the "in-line" variety. It screws directly into the side of the PS Pump housing. Installed a recycled pump and switch. Light stayed off for about 60 -90 minutes of drive time over 2 day period. Then "Bam"...It's back. Not sure what the code was. My mechanic scanned and advised. he said the pressure output was fine under load and not, so system was functioning but sensor/switch was not operating correctly. I can get the code later and post. I do have it at home.

Switch is not available anywhere...except from the dealer when purchasing a new PS Pump...at the aforementioned cost of $847.00. Ouch!!!
