car turning off unexpectedly

Asked by mitsudad Jul 12, 2013 at 06:40 AM about the 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My son's 2002 eclipse has started turning off when he is driving. It turned off and right back on as he was merging on the interstate. Turned off when he was backing out of the driveway. Turned off when he turned the AC on. Turned off when he stopped at a red light (at night with lights on). All these are different occurrences on the same day. Seems to start back up just fine after it dies.
