The engine on my '03 GTS is missing badly at lower RPM and under load.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just did a tune-up (plugs, wires, cap & rotor, upper intake gaskets, and MAF sensor) and since then the car has started missing within minutes of driving the car from cold, and during the last couple weeks of driving the car (minimally) its condition seems to be worsening almost to the point that I won't be able to drive it. The car gives an error code for multiple misfires. The miss appears to go away at higher rpm (2500+) and it is much worse under load such as initial acceleration or when the A/C is turned on. I have checked for vacuum leaks, changed the plugs and wires again, and tried 4 different MAF sensors, but there has been no improvement. I can't see any kind of sparking that would suggest a short anywhere, and all electrical connectors seem to be in good shape.

Any ideas?

Runs fine cold? Gets worse hot? Look at a failing pickup unit (ie) distributor the spark part may work fine the fuel side will give you this symptom. Try a used distrbutor. A new on will be pricey.

That's the only other option I can think of too, but I was hoping not to hear that. Looks like I may have to bite the bullet. Thanks.
